The Peace Not War Crew return to Cargo for an evening of summer frivolity. We cordially invite you to come and join us to celebrate as Blair leaves Downing Street, admittedly only to be replaced by Brown, but on this blissful evening, democracy will rain strong and booty shaking will be the tax...
£6/£5 (NUS) :: 19:00 - 01:00 @ Cargo, 83 Rivington Street, Kingsland Viaduct, Shoreditch, London EC2A 3AY
Slovo began in the mind and then the South London studio of Faithless guitarist Dave Randall. In 2005 Dave Randall returned to guitar playing duties with his friends Faithless, but also began work on Slovo's second album 'Todo Cambia'. The new album features the vocal talents of Andrea Britton and UK hip-hop MC Bobby Whiskers among others. It will be released later this year.

Visionary Underground are a London based technology driven dance band/soundsystem founded by DJ FeelFree and VJ Coco. Their sound is a fusion of nu skool breakbeat, drum n bass, hip hop, dub, ragga, roots and asian vibes alongside live interactive visuals. Alongside this they present Damion who brings the soulful yet gritty vocals and a variety of guest MCs, most recently MC LowQui (Goldie's MC) and Jagga from Devils Gun. Their live shows now see them joined by special guest Dr Das (Original founder member and formerly of Asian Dub Foundation) on bass.
United Vibrations originally formed at a jam session, vibing to the heat of late summer, 2003.. The vibe worked. What started as a one-off, became one-a-week. Musicians came, musicians went, and slowly, but surely, they became United Vibrations. They've been playing together ever since, constantly striving for new ways to get a crowd out their seats. They've rocked many prestigious venues, including Brixton Mass, Hackney Ocean, and SE1. Now they're bringing the party to you. As an eight-piece band, its impossible to pin their influences and sound down to any one style. The closest would be its a London thing". Their South London roots shine through, with a healthy dose of hip hop, reggae, and ska. But to get an accurate image of their sound, the jazz, the funk, and ultimately, the soul must be added. They dont do genres, they dont do styles, they do Music, and they do it well. United Vibrations. Music, United, as One.

Also, a special guest feature will be an exclusive showing of the anti-war political art/music project - 'deadfisch'. The centrepiece on the night will be a sculpture made in 2005 in reaction to the atrocities that were going on in iraq and afghanistan by Andy Bullock. The sculpture has yet to be displayed in public in the UK, currently only being shown on the Saatchi gallery website.
